Inside Sales Representative
Introduction
The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for primarily driving Injectable product sales and serving as the point of contact for sales at the account level. S/he manages the sales process for Injectable and Ophthalmic product lines, accounts, and/or sales opportunities via phone and e-mail. Responsibilities include engaging with existing customers, generating new sales, introducing customers to the Somerset products that best meet their needs, coordinating with internal resources to address customer questions/objections, securing requests for pricing, creating and submitting requests for individualized quotes, negotiating and coordinating with the VP of Institutional Sales to ensure the delivery of products, and the closing of the sales process through the point of sales contract conversion and when applicable for direct order receipt. This individual works closely with the VP of Institutional Sales to meet and exceed sales quotas for a specific territory. This position is based in Somerset NJ sales role located in a specific geography and requires minimal travel (10%); however, local travel to nearby customers is highly encouraged.
Job Summary
- Engage with existing customers and generate new sales
- Establish new customers in assigned markets
- Focus on GPO contracts, whereby it requires determined diligence to drive sales activities and results, specifically within State Facilities, Hospitals, Clinics, Maintain/grow revenue at existing customer accounts
- Manage trade show leads and their respective qualifications
- Capture relevant wholesaler information as it pertains to the stocking of Somerset Pharma, LLC products and any potential inventory issues
- Assist the Outside Sales team with the validation of new contract pricing loads for specific GPO and IDN contracts
- Manage a forecast and implement strategies to address any gaps to the plan
- Establish and nurture positive, productive relationships with customer accounts including product end-users, management, and purchasing contacts
- Work collaboratively with Sales & Marketing to drive product promotions and provide feedback on ROI
- Maintain an equivalent CRM database via updates to sales opportunities, sales stages, marketing statuses, and customer intelligence data

Hospital Sales Representative
Responsibilities and Duties
- Achieve and promote sales and grow the business within an assigned territory to achieve goals and targets
- Promote sales for generic injectable and ophthalmic pharmaceuticals
- Call point will be hospitals, inpatient pharmacies, IDNs, Home Infusion Centers, and other healthcare facilities
- Negotiate sales and contracts of IDN, Regional GPO, and independent client contracts
- Account Consultant and Business Development
- Manage your territory’s GPO contracted products conversion sales
- Work with local wholesaler DC’s
- Co-ordinate effectively between office and customers to ensure customer satisfaction
- Prepare and present sales reports and presentation updates identifying sales and market trends
- Support and align to organization’s sales and marketing strategy
- Promote sales for generic injectable pharmaceuticals
- Work with buyers, directors of pharmacy, and clinical coordinators to identify business opportunities
- Attend any industry meeting or event as needed
Qualifications
- Knowledge of selling to hospital pharmacies, IDN contracts, wholesalers, and GPO environment
- At least 2 years experience specific to sales of generics to hospital, IDN environment, and interaction with the target audience
- Will consider candidates with strong sales skills and work ethic

Patent Specialist (Patent Litigation)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Patent Specialist to support our IP team in patent litigation matters. This role will involve working closely with attorneys and patent professionals to manage and support all aspects of patent litigation, including document management, legal research, evidence gathering, and preparation of filings and briefs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceuticals, patent law, litigation procedures, and intellectual property management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patent Litigation Support:
- Assist in the preparation and management of patent litigation cases, including drafting and reviewing documents such as complaints, answers, motions,
and discovery requests. - Coordinate and track the litigation process, ensuring compliance with deadlines, filings, and procedural requirements.
- Help prepare exhibits, deposition summaries, and other documents for use in litigation proceedings.
- Maintain and update litigation databases, case management systems, and patent portfolios.
- Patent Research & Analysis:
- Conduct patent and prior art searches to assist in litigation strategies and assess patent validity or infringement.
- Analyze patent claims and technical documentation to assist in the development of litigation arguments. Assist attorneys with Markman hearings, patent claim construction, and related activities.
- Discovery and Evidence Management:
- Oversee the discovery process, including the identification, collection, and review of documents and electronic evidence relevant to patent cases.
- Work with outside vendors to manage e-discovery processes, including document review, data production, and analysis.
- Coordinate expert witness discovery and deposition preparation and assist in organizing expert reports and testimony.
- Case Management & Coordination:
- Support the preparation for hearings, trials, and settlement discussions by organizing case files, exhibits, and witness lists.
- Liaise with external counsel, clients, and other third parties involved in the litigation process.
- Monitor the status of ongoing cases and report updates to internal stakeholders.
- Patent Filings & Prosecution Assistance (as needed):
- Assist in the preparation and filing of patent-related documents in conjunction with litigation (e.g., requests for reexamination, appeals, etc.).
- Provide support for patent prosecution matters relevant to the litigation strategy.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, or a related technical field (required).
- Experience in patent litigation, including work with patent attorneys, IP firms, or corporate legal departments (3 years preferred).
- Familiarity with U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) procedures, patent litigation practices, and intellectual property laws.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of patent law and the litigation process.
- Ability to conduct patent research, including prior art searches and claim
analysis. - Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and document management skills.
- Proficient in litigation support tools and e-discovery platforms
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and external parties.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and patent
databases - Experience with litigation management software is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with US patent litigation procedures
- Background in pharmaceuticals, or other technical disciplines that are common in patent litigation matters.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, with standard working hours. Flexibility may be required for urgent matters or time-sensitive cases.
- Occasional travel may be required for hearings, depositions, or case management purposes.
